Shelby Ivie
Shelby discovered her passion for reading later in life. Though she's read off-and-on since childhood, she didn't become a bookworm until her twenties, when, as a new mom, she suddenly had a lot more at-home time on her hands. Now, she reads voraciously and broadly across nearly every genre, and aims to read diversely and with intention. Her favorite reading format is audiobooks due to their accessibility, but she gladly reads in any format. Shelby graduated Magna Cum Laude from Western Oregon University with a BS in Sociology and currently lives in the PNW with her family.

Growing up, Shelby spent countless hours after school cozying up in the stacks at her local library, fostering her love of reading (shout out to Patricia C. Wrede and her Enchanted Forest Chronicles!). Her favorite genres are literary fiction, fantasy, and speculative fiction. She’s also an ardent reader of nonfiction and is committed to being an active, lifelong learner. She holds a PhD in Geography and currently teaches at the University of Arizona. In her free time, you can find her sharing her favorite books on Instagram, exploring indie bookstores, and going on adventures with her dog, Charlie.
